Online teaching support: Home

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, many publishers are temporarily enhancing access to their content

Support for teaching online courses

UNSW Library is offering additional services around curating course resources lists using Leganto.

  • Outreach Librarians can assist you with finding online resources, copyright guidance and getting your lists up and running as quickly as possible
  • Consider using low bandwidth resources
  • In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, some publishers are temporarily enhancing access to their content. UNSW Library is monitoring these offerings and will update your Leganto lists where appropriate.

To ensure your students have the best possible access to online resources:

  • continue to add the resources you require for teaching to your Leganto course resources lists
  • the Library will add the online version of the resource if available
  • check enhanced access resources including ebooks, films, databases and journals

If you have questions about your Leganto list, contact your Outreach Librarian

Remote access to online resources

The COVID-19 pandemic is requiring libraries to quickly adapt services to accommodate the needs of a largely remote community.

  • LibKey Nomad is a browser extension for Chrome that dramatically expands your access to online resources by instantly connecting you to full text from popular research sites. This cloud based service has advised that they are responding to the increased demand for online access to resources, simplifying the path to content.
    How do I connect?
Install LibKey Nomad via the Chrome web store. Choose UNSW Sydney as your institution.
  • Use the UNSW Library VPN to remotely access UNSW Library subscriptions. For more information, including step by step connection guides and support see UNSW VPN Service.
  • Find a range of open and online scholarly resources via the UNSW Library Open education resources guide

As the UNSW community moves to the online world there will be bandwidth issues, so please consider using low bandwidth resources.
