These are some considerations when using AI at UNSW:
Protect privacy by keeping your sensitive or private data secure. Free GenAI tools can retain your personal data, therefore, entering information such as names, emails or zIDs is not advised.
Respect copyright by only uploading open access or publicly available information to generative AI. Scholarly content including journal articles found in databases is protected by copyright and licencing agreements, which prohibit it being uploaded to public AI tools. Only upload open access or publicly available information to generative AI.
Always be sure to disclose AI assistance when used in your assessments. It is a good idea to check with your course outline or course convenor whether the use of AI tools is permitted in your assessments.
